The hemlock tree outside my studio has a prolific crop of cones this season. It’s attracting all kinds of birds including Juncos, Chickadees, and Redpoles. These Pine Siskins were hanging out near the top of the tree.

This garden spider was waiting patiently in her web yesterday morning as the morning sun was just beginning to lift through the trees to the east. Sorry for the cross-post for those of you who visit my East Street Weather Blog, but I really like this shot and wanted to share it.

We have three cats. Dandelion is our oldest at around 10 years old. He’s a fine fellow, but don’t let him beguile you by presenting his belly for a pat—he’ll be all claws!

While making dinner at a friend’s house on the shores of Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondacks, two white tail fawns traipsed out into the field busily browsing on the lush grasses. They hung around for quite some time seemingly unperturbed by me hiding out behind a tree to snap numerous photos. I caught this one in mid-munch!
