Diamond Daisy Fleabane

Daisy fleabane drenched with morning dew

The morning dew was heavy today, and this daisy fleabane blossom seems to have every millimeter of its surface covered with it—almost as if it had gotten the Fabergé treatment!

Sorry ’bout the alliteration… couldn’t resist. Back in macro-land here and bug hunting in our front field.

Raindrops cling to daylily stamens out by our pond. The pollen has been mostly washed off the anther (the black bits…) but a small amount remains.

Wild Strawberry

Springtime’s prolific wild strawberry blossoms along Fargo Brook are ripening into a pretty good crop of berries. I had to lay down flat on the ground to capture this image. And, yes, it was tasty as was its neighbor!
