On our way back from kayaking on Lake Champlain on Sunday, we drove through this hayfield in Orwell. The fresh-cut round bales dotted the field out to the horizon line of the Green Mountains.

Bert’s Crown is a rocky knob above the Camel’s Hump Nordic center. I’d never climbed to the top of it before, so decided to give it a try this morning. It was a bit of a scramble, but I was rewarded by a stunning view!

The humid, rainy weather that we’ve been “enjoying” for the past three weeks has finally broken. We revel in the clear, cool air that is much more typical of Vermont summers. Here, fair weather cumulus clouds reflect in a weathered window of an outbuilding behind the Greensboro Library where my duo, the Swing Peepers, performed yesterday afternoon.

Morning sunlight pours over this view along in the Huntington River Valley. With all our wet weather, the corn is struggling a bit. I like the  linear interaction of corn rows and the cirrus clouds.
