
The frequent rains have provided ample opportunity to study raindrops. The line up of droplets on the stem of this red maple leaf caught my eye from a distance and drew me right in.

Lady’s Mantle leaves have an interesting ability to allow raindrops to bead along the serrated edges of their leaves. I take at least one shot like this every season and never grow tired of it!

I spent some time stalking this song sparrow yesterday morning as he hopped about in the sumac in part of our front field. He didn’t seem too bothered by my presence, allowing me to get in fairly close as he hopped from branch to branch pausing to loose is lovely song.
