Droplet

If you slow down, take your time, keep your eyes open, you just might see something special…

Lining up

The frequent rains have provided ample opportunity to study raindrops. The line up of droplets on the stem of this red maple leaf caught my eye from a distance and drew me right in.

Beaded

Lady’s Mantle leaves have an interesting ability to allow raindrops to bead along the serrated edges of their leaves. I take at least one shot like this every season and never grow tired of it!

These tiny beads of dew were clinging to a low-slung spider’s web in the grass by the pond. I’d say the largest drops were smaller than half-a-millimeter.

The view from here

An unidentified insect surveys our ornamental garden from its vantage point on a rain soaked iris. I especially like the tiny bead of water on the bug’s back.

Shooting in the rain has its challenges and its rewards. Here raindrops cling to a curling vetch vine.
