We spent the Thanksgiving weekend with family in Saratoga Springs. While exploring the State Park, I came across these oak leaved as they were slowly being coated and encased by mineral deposits flowing out of one of the springs.

Cold temperature make for interesting ice formation. This pendulous pod of ice had built up on a twig just above the moving surface of Fargo Brook.

The ruby-throated hummingbirds are back! This little fellow was buzzing around our back deck where the Manchu cherry bush is in full bloom. He paused ever so briefly on a branch displaying is stunning throat feathers.

Robin & I enjoyed a fine day of skiing up at Craftsbury Outdoor Center yesterday. The ample sunshine and soft spring conditions made for wonderful skiing. I’m always stuck, when traveling through the Northeast Kingdom, how different the landscape is from our neck of the woods here in Huntington.
