
This cherry tree is a stalwart next to Fargo Brook. Given that the brook has been rather unruly in the past couple of years and jumped its banks due to flooding rains, I wonder how long the tree will last before its hold is eroded and it falls like many other trees before it.

I really like the this photo. It is simple but the shadowing in the background makes it nicer. Those shadows contrast nicely with the darker bark of the tree.

Thanks Allen. I had an idea in mind when I snapped it, but wasn’t sure how it would turn out what with the broad dynamic range of the tree’s shadow and sunlight off the water. Lightroom came to the rescue with its graduated filter…
